About Poonam Bhuchar

Poonam Bhuchar is a practicing attorney, TEDx speaker, Amazon bestselling author, and resilience strategist who helps individuals and organizations navigate trauma, divorce, corporate burnout, and major life transitions with clarity, strength, and dignity.

With over 24 years of legal experience, Poonam has worked closely with professionals, executives, and families facing some of life’s most difficult moments. Through her work, she has seen firsthand that challenges such as divorce, trauma, burnout, and overwhelming life transitions rarely stay outside the workplace—they affect how leaders show up, how professionals perform, and how people carry emotional burdens silently while continuing to meet demanding expectations.

Born and raised in London to Indian parents, Poonam immigrated to the United States at 21 and has personally overcome profound adversity, including sexual assault, abuse, health challenges, financial setbacks, and the cultural stigma surrounding divorce. These experiences led her to develop the S.A.F.E. Method, a powerful framework designed to help individuals acknowledge, process, and grow from emotional pain without shame, stigma, or judgment.

Her award-winning book “SAFE from the Pain” guides readers through healing and transformation, helping them move from emotional suffering to a life of strength, purpose, and fulfillment. Poonam has also contributed a chapter on “Divorcing with Dignity” alongside world-renowned motivational speaker Les Brown, highlighting the gaps in the legal system and the critical need for holistic support during divorce.

Today, Poonam is widely known as The Divorce Journey Coach, supporting individuals before, during, and after divorce by addressing not only the legal aspects but also the emotional, financial, and life-transition challenges that accompany it. Her work bridges the gap between legal strategy, emotional resilience, and personal reinvention.

As a speaker, Poonam addresses organizations on topics including:
• Corporate burnout and the hidden emotional toll on professionals
• Navigating divorce while maintaining leadership and productivity
• Secondary trauma and emotional resilience in high-stress professions
• Overcoming trauma and rebuilding confidence after adversity
• Managing major life transitions while sustaining professional performance

She has spoken for organizations including Pfizer and served as a keynote speaker for the Pennsylvania Health Council on Secondary Trauma for Social Workers, among many others.

Poonam has appeared on KTLA, Fox, David Meltzer’s Office Hours, Forbes Riley’s talk show, and over 50 podcasts worldwide.

Through her speaking, coaching, and thought leadership, Poonam helps individuals and organizations turn adversity into resilience, clarity, and empowered leadership.
