Mr. Brian Regalbuto had open heart surgery when the Heart/Lung Machine was under FDA trials. The surgeons put a patch in his heart at the age of six so he would have normal oxygen levels to live. He had an NDE at that time. Thus, he came back. He was not the first to have the surgery. However, he was the first to go out of the hospital alive.
