Baron has been the recipient of a number of literary awards and nominations including the prestigious Will Rogers Medallion for Literature; the Silver Falchion Award; the Nero Award; the Lefty Award; the Foreword Indie Award; the Claymore Award; and the Pacific Northwest’s celebrated Spotted Owl Award.

Before becoming a bestselling author, Mr. Birtcher spent a number of years as a professional musician, and founding an independent record label and artist management firm.

He has delivered hundreds of keynote speeches, presentations, and panel appearances over the years, and is a frequent and popular guest speaker at formal and informal gatherings both large and small. He resides on a small ranch in the Willamette Valley, Oregon, where he is at work on his next novel.
