I was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and grew up in the small town of Jonestown. My early years were marked by hardship-poverty, abuse, and constant bullying at school. Life felt like a fight I couldn’t win, and by the time I was twelve, I was already working just to get by.
Losing my mother to cancer was the turning point that shattered what little stability I had. By fifteen, I was on my own, abandoned and searching for belonging in all the wrong places. Drugs became a way to numb the pain, and by sixteen, addiction had taken hold. I dropped out of high school at fifteen and attempted to turn things around by joining the Marine Corps at seventeen, but I wasn’t physically able to complete boot camp.
By my early twenties, I had fallen even deeper-using and dealing meth, believing there was no way out. At twenty-six, my choices finally caught up with me, and I was sentenced to a year in jail. But what I thought was the end turned out to be the beginning. Hitting rock bottom forced me to look in the mirror and realize that if my life was ever going to change, it had to start with me. That moment became the foundation for everything I’ve built since.
