About Bill Poirier

Bill Poirier is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who has a passion for the game of golf, having been involved for over 64 years. He continuously coaches those who have a passion for golf and a love for Jesus Christ, or who the Lord is seeking to draw into a relationship with Him.

Bill’s military experience instilled a love for his soldiers, which exemplifies the moniker, “Mission first, people always”. After a conversion experience in 1981, Bill’s passion became to give the Gospel through golf and to train men into mature men of faith. He has worked in a myriad of fields from aviation as a trained pilot to sales of aircraft, golf products & services, teaching, mentoring and is skilled in various Internet services, marketing, sales management, organzational & business management and, now, is walking through the PGA Associates program to become a PGA Golf Professional while building a Discipleship training program for golfers through Golf From the Heart..

For the past 10 years, he has been using his online skills to promote ministries in the game of golf through Golf From the Heart (GFtH), L3C (www.golffromtheheart.golf), which has developed the curriculum for coaching individual golfers to better their golf game as well as the game of LIFE for male golfers.

Bill and his wife, Anne, have been married for 52 years and boast 5 adult children and 12 grandchildren, the majority of whom live in the same city of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Bill has been honored to coach his son, Garren Poirier, into one of the premier amateur golfers in New England, as well as coach his daughters and his grandchildren into lives of dedication to the Lord and others.
