About John Stewart Hill

John Stewart Hill is the founder of The Good Contractors List, a national consumer-protection platform and movement built to restore trust between homeowners and the home-service industry. After surviving a life-altering heart attack that forced him to confront purpose, responsibility, and legacy, Hill committed his life to doing something unmistakably GOOD.

What began in 2011 as a small local experiment became the first and only third-party contractor resource that financially backs the work of its members—now guaranteeing billions of dollars in completed projects while holding contractors accountable to standards most marketing companies ignore. His work challenges the status quo of self-promotion, pay-per-lead marketing, and hollow reviews by introducing a higher authority that protects homeowners and elevates ethical contractors.

Today, Hill is leading a national movement built on Collective Authority Marketing—a model where vetted contractors from every trade band together under one responsible umbrella to protect homeowners and refer one another, creating safe contractor communities and an ever-growing referral ecosystem.

As a speaker, Hill blends a powerful personal story with a disruptive business philosophy that resonates with entrepreneurs, trades professionals, faith-based audiences, and organizations hungry for purpose-driven growth. His message is both practical and provocative: when good people take responsibility for one another and for those they serve, trust becomes scalable—and entire industries can change.
