About Mike Brown, Jr.

Mike Brown is a nonprofit executive, author, and leadership strategist whose life and work have been shaped by resilience, faith, and a deep commitment to serving others. His leadership journey began at the age of seventeen and has unfolded across more than three decades of service in communities throughout the United States. Along the way, Mike has experienced profound personal loss, including the death of his son at birth and the loss of his wife to cancer, experiences that have deeply informed his belief that leadership must be rooted in love, kindness, and presence. Today, he lives in Fort Worth, Texas, with his wife Stacy and their blended family, and he intentionally integrates family, faith, and purpose into both his personal and professional life.

Professionally, Mike has served in senior executive roles within large, complex nonprofit organizations, including as President and Chief Executive Officer, leading operations, fundraising, governance, and organizational strategy. Over his career, he has overseen large multidisciplinary teams, managed significant budgets, and partnered closely with boards and community leaders. A Certified Fund Raising Executive, Mike has led comprehensive philanthropic strategies that have generated more than $100 million in support through major gifts, foundations, corporate partnerships, government funding, and capital campaigns. His leadership is known for balancing strategic rigor with empathy, ensuring that mission, people, and results remain aligned.

Mike is also the founder of The Leader Vibe, a family-operated leadership and consulting firm focused on helping organizations and leaders navigate change, strengthen culture, and expand impact. He is the author of the forthcoming book Re-Routed: The Pain, Purpose, and People That Made Me a Leader, which explores how life’s unexpected turns can become powerful catalysts for growth, purpose, and leadership. Through speaking, coaching, and consulting, Mike shares practical leadership insights grounded in lived experience, faith, and decades of executive leadership.

Academically, Mike holds degrees in liberal arts, business management, human services, and nonprofit leadership, and he is currently a doctoral candidate in Strategic Leadership. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member teaching leadership, ethics, and human services. Whether writing, speaking, or leading, Mike’s work is driven by a belief that leadership is not about position, but about impact, authenticity, and the responsibility to help others flourish
