Shaunté Keakalani Caraballo is an energetic speaker, professor, actress, spoken-word artist, hula dancer, speech writer, and wedding coordinator. She is an Associate Professor at CSU Dominguez Hills in the department of Theatre, Speech and Dance, where she teaches in all three disciplines, is the speech coordinator, and the director of the Speech and Debate Team. She is an accomplished actress with more than 25 years in the industry. Over 25 years as a public speaker, providing training and education for multiple age levels in the academic, corporate, and not-for-profit arenas. She is a multiple national award-winning speech and debate competitor and coach with over 20 years of competition and a history of national success. She is the owner of For the Culture Events & Travel, a successful wedding and travel business with over 18 years in the industry. She dances hula with Halau Hula E tu Pa’a Ali’i Me ta Mo’o Mehe’u O’ Hawai’i.
Shaunte won her first of many storytelling competitions in high school. She became a national champion in storytelling in undergrad, then a national award-winning coach. When she became a business owner, she learned how to turn storytelling into business success. Her Keynote, Sell the Self, Not the Slide unlocks the storyteller inside for personal and professional success. She is a national speech and debate champion, a professor, and a leader in the development of speech curriculum for underrepresented people groups. She is the Chair for the American College Theatre Arts Festival and an Art Equity BIPOC Leader. Her life’s work is empowering people to be who they were always intended to be, successful storytellers!
