Devell Porter | Founder, Author, Speaker & Coach
Raised on the West Side of Chicago, Devell Porter overcame survival-mode thinking through faith, mentorship, and mindset mastery. In 2003, he stepped into his calling as a Mentor, Coach, and Vocational Education Teacher at Westside Holistic, where he also led a historic visit to the White House with students, athletes, and educational leaders—laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to leadership, exposure, and transformation. In 2010, Devell further expanded his impact by serving as a National Committee Youth Olympics Representative, solidifying his leadership in youth and community development and national service.
In 2014, Devell launched Grooming Champions, a youth and community development organization created to address critical gaps in mentorship, leadership, life skills, and college readiness. Through sports, education, and character development, the organization has impacted hundreds of students, athletes, educators, and families. Today, Devell is the Founder of Grooming Life Leaders, using speaking, coaching, and professional development to ignite purpose and produce generational impact. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with former NBA players, the Jr. NBA, Fortune 500 executives, nonprofits, and major brands including McDonald’s, Walmart, and Jordan Station 23, as well as senior pastoral leaders, faith-based executives, government officials, and decorated law enforcement leaders—bridging faith, leadership, and real-world opportunity across education, business, sports, public service, and the Church.
Devell Porter brings over 22 years of coaching student-athletes, 28 years of corporate development experience, and 22 years of faith leadership in ministry, offering a rare blend of real-world credibility across sports, business, education, and faith-based environments.
He is also the author of the eBook The Reset Mindset: From Procrastination to Momentum, which provides individuals and professionals with actionable steps, proven strategies, and real-life insights designed to create practical, transformational growth in both their personal and professional lives.
