Alejandro Fernandez, L.Ac. MSOM, NMD, has more than 20 years of experience with Eastern medicine. He has led Kampo (Japanese herbal medicine) and Sooji (Korean hand-based acupuncture system) seminars, including at the Chicago Medical School, Du Paul University, Dominican University, Edwards Elmhurst Hospital, as well as conducted training and public speaking in more than 10 countries.
Additionally, Dr. Fernandez did extensive research in antiaging, stress management, and diabetes using acupuncture, herbs and nutrition.
Alejandro Fernandez holds a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, where he periodically substituted as an instructor. He also has a doctorate in Naturopathy Medicine from the American Naturopathic Medical Institute and completed a 2-year internship at the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. He has been featured on NBC morning news and participates from time to time in a radio program to talk about health using Chinese medicine principles.
He was the lead person in the integrative medicine and Chinese medicine department of Edwards-Elmhurst Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Fernandez is doing extensive research in kidney and respiratory diseases, creating programs to help patients with these conditions. His main purpose is to help as many people as possible using Natural Medicine as well as empowering the community with the knowledge to make healthier choices in their lives.
