About Brian Trascher

Brian Trascher serves as the National Vice President and Public Information Officer of the United Cajun Navy, a volunteer-based nonprofit organization renowned for its extensive disaster response operations across the United States and beyond. With a background as a seasoned boat captain, aircraft pilot, and diver, Trascher brings hands-on expertise to tactical operations, including search and rescue missions in floodwaters and hazardous environments. His experience in government relations stems from his role as Senior Partner at Gulf South Strategies, where he bridges business and politics, advocating for clients in policy matters, while his public relations skills are honed through keynote speaking, authorship of the best-selling book “Laws and Sausage,” and media engagements. The United Cajun Navy, under leaders like Trascher, conducts vast operations encompassing search and rescue, relief distribution of meals, medical supplies, and generators, as well as post-disaster cleanup and rebuilding efforts for hurricanes, floods, wildfires, tornadoes, and other crises, deploying volunteers nationwide to support affected communities at no cost.

Since 2017, the United Cajun Navy has deployed to numerous locations, including Texas and Louisiana for Hurricane Harvey, Florida for Hurricane Irma, Hidalgo County for flooding in 2018, Jackson, Mississippi, for water crises starting in 2022, North Carolina for recent tragedies, central Texas for devastating floods in 2025, and even internationally to Jamaica ahead of Hurricane Melissa in 2025. Trascher has frequently appeared in media to discuss these efforts, including on Fox News for Hurricane Ian’s “Katrina-like devastation” in 2022, NPR and ABC News Live for Texas flood recovery in 2025, Fox Business for search and rescue challenges, EWTN News Nightly for disaster roles, and podcasts like Glenn Beck’s show addressing aid depot incidents and FEMA critiques, as well as Fox News Radio commemorating the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina in 2025.
