Dr. Daniel Gilbert, Ph.D., is a dynamic theologian, global influencer, aspiring author, and servant leader igniting transformation worldwide.
With a doctorate from the prestigious University of Aberdeen and over 40 years of leadership in ministry, education, and humanitarian work, Dr. Gilbert—ordained in 1992—thrives as an influencer within the ECO Presbyterian community, as well as the Christian Covenant Coalition, and Kingdom Global Ministries.
Mentorship and Spiritual Formation:
During his university years, Dr. Gilbert was profoundly shaped by four influential Christian leaders: Dr. Jack Hayford, Dr. Rod Williams, Dr. Pat Robertson, and Dr. David (Paul) Yonggi Cho. These mentors invested deeply in Daniel, fostering a passion for theology and ministry that continues to bless the Church today. Their guidance ignited Daniel’s lifelong mission to spark life-changing encounters with God and empower believers through the Holy Spirit.
Ministry and Humanitarian Work:
Daniel’s heart beats for the forgotten. Through EmPowered Living International Ministries, a trailblazing nonprofit he founded, and ELIM Theological Institute in Kenya, with schools planned in South Africa and Colombia, Daniel is equipping unschooled pastors with solid theology, sound Bible teaching, pastoral leadership, and Holy Spirit empowerment. From Kenya’s Siaya County to emerging global outposts, he is raising up a new generation of ministers where teaching is scarce.
EmPowered Living hosts transformational conferences and retreats, igniting churches and believers to unlock their Kingdom potential. Daniel’s humanitarian efforts—feeding, educating, and empowering orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya, alongside water projects and medical missions—bring hope to the hurting daily.
Consulting and Leadership:
Through DBG Consulting & Coaching, Dr. Gilbert advises Christian executives, pastors, and congregations with Kingdom-minded strategies. From church planting to training in theology, preaching, and leadership, Dr. Gilbert equips lead pastors to amplify their impact within the sanctuary and across the globe.
Academic Leadership, Professorships, and Pastoral Leadership:
Dr. Gilbert has served as the Director of the Master’s Program and Assistant Professor of Theology & Homiletics at Regent University’s School of Divinity. Also, he served as the Dean of Students and Professor of Theology and Church History at The King’s University. Currently, Daniel serves as a Mentor and Adjunct Professor for the Doctoral program at Global Awakening Theological Seminary, as well as Adjunct Professor at Kairos Pacific University.
Along with his leadership roles and teaching positions, Dr. Gilbert has pastored three churches over a 20-year period, as the Assistant Pastor in the Church of Scotland, a Church Planter and Senior Pastor in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and a Senior Pastor in Los Angeles, California.
Personal Life and Ministry Engagement:
Daniel and his college sweetheart, Mary Beth—an international speaker inspiring women worldwide since their 1985 marriage—celebrate their daughter, Maria, a university student.
Together, Daniel and Mary Beth welcome inquiries about church advising, speaking engagements, and support for EmPowered Living’s mission to transform lives globally.
