Herb Sennett transitioned into a full-time author and speaker in 2016, after dedicating 35 years to education as a high school teacher (5 years) and then as a college professor. During his tenure in the classroom, Herb developed a deep understanding of how people communicate, how they learn, and how they grow knowledge. He now channels those insights into his writing. His speaking career took off with the publication of his thoughtful and provocative book, Turning Divisions into Dialogues, which addresses how to navigate difficult conversations with empathy, grace, and compassion.
Beyond his solo work, Herb has co-authored A Most Unusual Relationship, chronicling his enduring friendship with Rabbi Alan Sherman. Their bond forged through shared service as Army Reserve chaplains during Operation Desert Storm is a powerful testament to the strength of interfaith collaboration and deep mutual respect. Through this book, Herb explores themes of faith, reconciliation, and the courage to build bridges across ideological and religious divides.
Herb is also a prolific writer of both fiction and non-fiction. He has authored three novels and six non-fiction books, focusing on interpersonal communication, positive psychology, and self-help. His well-known work, Nicholas Rowe and the Beginnings of Feminism on the London Stage, has been included in English speaking libraries around the world. His rich literary output reflects both his academic rigor and his passion for meaningful dialogue, transformation, and personal development.
Today, Herb uses his unique blend of educator experience, spiritual insight, and storytelling to help individuals, teams, and organizations communicate better, heal divides, and lead with compassion. Whether speaking at a conference, leading a workshop, or coaching clients one-on-one, he empowers his audiences to not just talk, but to truly listen and in doing so, to transform conflict into connection.
