Paul LeBon is a true Renaissance Man,
with a unique life story and life path.
A former Performance Consultant, he lost his career at age 55 when diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s and given a life expectancy of 5–7 years in 2011.
As a devout Catholic, he repurposed his life to doing Mission trips to Cuba to help revive the Catholic Church after the ban on religion had been lifted.
His creativity and organizational skills so impressed Cardinal Jaime Ortega that he was asked to help organize the visit to Cuba in 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI.
Working in tandem with Cuban government officials, his efforts were rewarded by President Raul Castro. Paul was allowed to be the first ever American to be treated at a Cuban clinic known worldwide for work on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
His five-week treatment did not cure him of ALZ, but it raised his fluency scores from the 30’s to the 60’s. He returns for “boost up” treatment every two years and continues his Missionary work.
Frustrated that the American medical community refused to acknowledge his treatment, he wriote and self-published Outliving Alzheimer’s – My Blessed Journey. The book was released on Eorld Alzheimer’s Day 2023 and has done very well on Amazon.
He wrote the book because one of his takeaways from his treatment was to not just sit and do crossword puzzles and Sudoko, but to keep his brain working.
Hence, in fourteen years he has written and self-published 11 deeply researched and factual non-fiction books.
His most impressive book is An Outpouring of The People’s Love – The Last 24 Hours of JFK’s Life. Released on the 60th anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination, it tells the never before story if the last 24 hours of the president’s life and the live he received from thousands of Texans.
Paul has also written about the US–Cuba long-term adversarial relationship and other contemporary topics.
