When a foster child moves five times within the foster care system, there is a 90% chance they will end up involved in the legal system, meaning trouble with the law. I doubled that number, then added one more within six years. The incredible part is that for four and a half of those years, I lived in the same home. That means in just a year and a half, I moved ten different times.

Obviously, I carried a lot of baggage in my life. But I noticed something powerful that people in the Bible had in common. They overcame insurmountable odds. David faced Goliath. Daniel faced the lions’ den. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced the fiery furnace. They all overcame, and the one thing they had in common was God.

I decided that, come what may, I would be a statistics breaker. I would break the vicious cycle of foster care. I was determined to turn some of the worst experiences in my life, like being bullied as a child and being told I would never amount to anything, into fuel for my passion to help others and to slay my own giant of success. I did this because I found God.

To God be the glory. I went from a foster child to a foster parent, having welcomed over 100 children into my home through the foster care system in the state of Alabama. I went from being adopted out of foster care around the age of 12 to adopting a sibling group of three from foster care, prayerfully, soon to be five children adopted in total. I went from being homeless, living with my mother who struggled with prostitution, drug addiction, and alcoholism, to becoming a multimillionaire, author, and combat veteran.

My passion is to share this incredible story, not because of me, but because of what God has done for me.
