Richard R. Ramos is a national parenting expert, speaker, author, and leadership coach with over 30 years of experience working with high-risk youth, parents, and community leaders. As the founder of Parents on a Mission (POM) and Youth on a Mission (YOM), Richard has trained thousands of parents and mentors across the U.S. and internationally, equipping them with the tools to restore broken relationships, develop strong family cultures, and lead with purpose.

A seasoned nonprofit executive, Richard is the Founder and served as President of the Latino Coalition for Community Leadership (2003 – 2023), granting over $105 million in federal grants and supporting 220 grassroots organizations nationwide. His deep understanding of family systems, gang prevention, and leadership development has made him a sought-after voice in the fields of parenting education and community violence prevention.

In addition to his three books on gang prevention, Richard is the author of Parents on a Mission – How Parents Can Win the Competition for the Hearts, Minds, and Loyalty of their Children, and The Art of Stepparenting – How to Blend Families Without Tearing Them Apart. His work is grounded in both research and lived experience—drawing from his personal journey as a stepfather, his professional work in diverse communities, and his years coaching parents and leaders from all walks of life.
