About Shirah Chante

Shirah Chante is a transformational speaker, educator, and author whose lived experience bridges meditation, resilience, and faith-based reflection in a way that deeply resonates with educational communities.

While still in college and navigating depression, unhealthy relationships, substance use, and emotional overwhelm, Shirah Chante discovered meditation as a powerful tool for creating healthy habits, increasing clarity and focus, and gaining the courage and confidence to succeed.

What began as a grounding practice during a difficult academic season later became a lifelong skill, one that sustained her through deeper challenges, including homelessness, and ultimately led her to a renewed sense of purpose, stable housing, and meaningful work. Meditation not only supported Shirah’s survival, but also opened the door to spiritual reflection and inner transformation that reshaped the trajectory of her life.

Today, Shirah Chante brings this full-circle journey back into colleges, universities, and educational institutions, offering students, faculty, and administrators a practical, inclusive framework for resilience, leadership, and self-regulation rooted in the very tools she first learned as a student herself.

Her work is especially impactful during Black History Month, where her story highlights perseverance, self-determination, and the often-overlooked role of inner wellness in Black history and contemporary education. Shirah is the author of the upcoming book, The Meditation Model, which provides a clear, accessible structure for applying meditation in academic settings.

The framework supports student mental health, focus, identity development, and purpose, translating reflection into real-world application. Her presentations are empowering, artistic, and deeply reflective, leaving audiences not only inspired, but equipped. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Shirah Chante earned a full academic scholarship to Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she attended her freshman year before transferring to Tulane University.

While at Tulane, she ran track and served as a cheerleader at both institutions. She graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. Following her undergraduate studies, Shirah Chante continued her education studying theology at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester, New York. During this time, she regularly attended Torah study at a Reform Jewish synagogue, an experience that deeply shaped her spiritual perspective, interfaith understanding, and commitment to reflective practice.

She later moved to Los Angeles, California, where she pursued creative writing and songwriting, studying under two-time Oscar-winning songwriter Al Kasha while attending The King’s University, earning a Graduate Certificate in Christian Ministry. This season further refined her voice as both an artist and faith-centered communicator. Alongside her creative and theological pursuits, Shirah Chante built a successful career in education.

She became a certified teacher and earned a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Teacher Leadership from Walden University, strengthening her ability to design systems, support learners, and lead within educational environments. Her background uniquely positions her at the intersection of education, wellness, faith, and the arts.

Currently, Shirah Chante is a transformational speaker, podcast host, relationship coach, and multidisciplinary artist who blesses audiences through music, art, poetry, and storytelling. She speaks and performs for audiences across the country and internationally, delivering keynote concerts, masterclasses, and workshops. Having overcome adversity in her personal and relational life, Shirah Chante now dedicates her work to helping others rise, reflect, and reclaim their purpose.
