My background is in community organizing through political campaigns as well as building and programming computers. I have served various political campaigns on a local and state level and gained great insight into why people do what they do and what possibly motivates people to reach out beyond themselves and volunteer for activities. However, it never seems to amaze me that people actually do what they say without any outside incentive. Maybe, I suppose, people really do seem to want to have a sense of belonging to something greater than themselves.

My own journey is filled with those people who have a higher sense of calling. Whether they be politicians or religious leaders or ordinary people filling the gap where others have left off, I believe that within each of us there is that little voice that says that we count and what we do counts and who we touch counts. My conviction in ministry is to reach that point in those I serve in order that they can vocalize their own faith and belief systems so that we can both walk down that road of life that is so filled with the potholes of this world and successfully maneuver around the pitfalls that present themselves to each of us each day.
