About Rev. Kevin T. Taylor
Faith-Informed Executive | Institutional Leadership Strategist | Author of A Charge to Keep
Rev. Kevin T. Taylor is a pastor and executive leader who helps institutions remain coherent under pressure. With nearly three decades in ministry and more than twenty years of senior leadership across education, nonprofits, and innovation ecosystems, he brings rare fluency at the intersection of governance, finance, culture, and calling. Whether addressing boards, executive teams, educators, or faith leaders, he equips decision-makers to lead with clarity, discipline, and long-horizon stewardship.
Kevin currently serves as Pastor of Israel A.M.E. Church in Albany, New York, the oldest Black church in Upstate New York and a documented station on the Underground Railroad. He lives in New England with his family. For nearly thirty years, he has been engaged in ministry across the country, preaching courage, accountability, and disciplined hope. His pastoral leadership integrates faith, civic responsibility, and intergenerational formation, reflecting his conviction that spiritual leadership and institutional stewardship are parallel responsibilities.
Beyond the pulpit, Kevin has served in senior executive roles including CEO, COO, CFO, and Interim CEO across charter school networks, national nonprofits, and climate innovation platforms. He led City on a Hill Charter Public School during pandemic disruption and organizational contraction. At Greentown Labs, North America’s largest climatetech incubator, he supported founder transition and nonprofit conversion while strengthening fiduciary oversight. At KIPP Massachusetts and Achievement First, he oversaw multi-entity financial systems, capital strategy, and operational scale tied directly to student outcomes and philanthropic accountability.
His work centers a pressing question for every institution: Are our vision, systems, and courage aligned deeply enough to withstand pressure, leadership transition, and the passage of time? He contends that institutions rarely collapse overnight; they erode when alignment is neglected and silence replaces courage.
Kevin is the award-winning author of A Charge to Keep: Immutable Leadership Lessons from the C-Suite to the Pulpit, recipient of the 2026 Bronze Illumination Award in the Ministry/Mission category. In it, he advances the Four Pillars of Enduring Leadership: Clarity of Vision, Integrity of Systems, Courageous Leadership, and Sustainability of Impact.
Known for intellectual clarity and moral seriousness, Kevin challenges audiences to think beyond charisma and toward coherence. His presentations are structured, rigorous, and practical, equipping leaders to strengthen governance, protect trust, and build impact that endures. He speaks nationally to boards, executive teams, educators, faith communities, and civic leaders who understand that inspiration is momentary, but stewardship is generational.
