About Don Hicks
Don Hicks, Business Consultant and Host of The Employer Brief Academy
Don Hicks helps business leaders make sense of the people side of their organizations. With more than 25 years in business consulting and HR, and a background as a medical benefits broker, he speaks on the issues employers struggle with most: rising benefits costs, compliance, HR outsourcing, and the everyday realities of managing people.
Don’s career spans the legal, technology, and human capital management industries. He is the host of The Employer Brief Academy, a podcast and weekly newsletter for leaders who want to think about HR differently. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from Villanova University, is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), and served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was named “Marine of the Year”.
A natural teacher, Don is known for turning complicated employment topics into practical steps audiences can use right away. He lives in the Cleveland, Ohio area, where he enjoys sports, movies, and reading history.
