Dr. Jameelah Medina is an experienced, bilingual (English/Spanish) speaker, consultant, and coaching professional. By providing clients with the right tools and knowledge, Dr. Medina has helped clients unleash their potential, paving the way towards personal and professional success.

SPEAKING

Dr. Medina first began public speaking at the tender age of 12 as a community advocate. After many years of community and competition speaking, she became a professional speaker and consultant in 2011. She has offered numerous speaking events for community partners, state agencies, corporations, school districts, and small organizations.

AUTHORSHIP

Dr. Medina is the author of dozens of publications, including: books such as The ABCs of Living a Good Life, The Afro-Latin Diaspora and a second in press, academic journal articles such as Body Politicking and the Phenomenon of ‘Passing’ in Sage’s Feminism & Psychology and This Battlefield Called My Body: Warring over the Female Muslim Body in a special issue of Religions, newspaper articles, book chapters and essays, education and training materials, as well as articles on a variety of blogs.

Dr, Medina has appeared on CNN, ABC News, KTLA 5, CBS 2/KCAL 9, Fox News, Univision TV, NPR, Deepak Chopra's Wellness Radio, and has been featured in O, The Oprah Magazine. She is also a contributor to Feminism and Religion, an online blog, and her work has also appeared on Vida AfroLatina, Altmuslimah, Feminist, Race Wire, Latinovations, and in The Islamic Monthly, Feminism & Psychology, Religions, Westside Story, La Prensa, and Nonfiction Authors Association Podcast. Additionally, on three occasions during her doctoral studies, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Special Representative Farah Pandith invited her to the State Department in Washington, D.C. for wisdom sessions, briefings, and special events.

EDUCATION

Dr. Medina earned her PhD in Higher Education and Master’s in Education from Claremont Graduate University. She also graduated with her BA (cum laude) in Spanish from Claremont McKenna College, as well as a Diversity & Inclusion certificate from Cornell University.
