AI & Human Creativity Speaker | Comedian, Filmmaker, New Yorker Cartoonist & NSF-Funded Technologist
Victor Varnado is an AI and human creativity speaker, comedian, filmmaker, New Yorker cartoonist, software engineer, and educator. Drawing on decades of experience across entertainment and technology, he shows audiences how artificial intelligence can expand human creativity without replacing the judgment, imagination, and lived experience that make creative work meaningful. His presentations combine practical insight, memorable stories, and the perspective of someone who actively builds AI-powered creative tools.
Victor has produced programming for Comedy Central, TruTV, VH1, and The History Channel. He created The Awkward Comedy Show, which introduced wider audiences to Eric Andre and Hannibal Buress, and Realm of LARP, distributed by Nerdist and Legendary Pictures. His feature films have premiered at South by Southwest, and his writing has appeared in VICE, Salon, Marvel Comics, and MAD Magazine. His cartoons have appeared in The New Yorker, and he once co-wrote a screenplay with comics legend Stan Lee.
As a performer, Victor has appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and My Name Is Earl, as well as in films alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eddie Murphy, and Werner Herzog. Behind the camera, he has directed four feature films and spent years transforming unconventional ideas into finished creative work across television, film, podcasts, games, and software.
Born legally blind and a Black person with albinism, Victor brings a distinctive perspective to conversations about creativity, technology, accessibility, and innovation. He is an Adjunct Professor of Filmmaking at Rider University and a recipient of a National Science Foundation grant for his work in accessibility technology. He has spoken for corporations, universities, and cultural organizations, including an AI music panel at John Jay College organized by the New York Philharmonic. Audiences leave his talks with a clearer, more useful understanding of AI—and practical ways to make it serve their ideas rather than dictate them.
