I am an author on artificial intelligence and the future of society, as well as science fiction and pirate adventures.

In my writings about AI, one of the subjects I like to explore is the topic of robot rights, and I write about one of the most provocative and urgent questions of our time: how do we ethically coexist with machines that may one day be self-aware? From redefining personhood to reimagining the boundaries of rights and morality, I try to spark conversations that challenge readers to rethink the future of humanity and how it will be affected by the machines we create

As a writer of science fiction and pirate adventures, the creative process is a joy. Bringing to life the vivid imagery of stories is like painting with words, and I find myself lost in the details of the worlds I create. But the most rewarding part is crafting the emotional arcs of characters and the directions their lives take. Seeing characters come alive on the page is deeply satisfying.

My last book on the concept of robot rights is called “Can You Rape a Robot? Morality, Rights, and the Rise of Conscious Machines.” My pirate adventures include my most recent novel, “The Secret of the Dragon’s Scale.”

In addition, I am an educational consultant, assisting students with all aspects of the college and private school application process. I am President of BTA Cultural and Educational Consulting, and its sister organization, the Princeton Academy of Language and Science.

Previously, I have taught college biology and chemistry for 30 years.
